In the middle of politics, life, and everything I blog about I seem to get caught up in them and forget what Im here for and what I fight for when I blog about politics. Today I have decided to do a post about my spiritual life and what God has laid on my heart, It will not be on a schedule because God tells me stuff on different days and I want to share it ASAP! Read with me:
Matthew 14:22-33 (New International Version)
22Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, 24but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.25During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.27But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."28"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."29"Come," he said.Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"32And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."
When I read this Im like come on peter for crying out sake its JESUS, why would you dare doubt him! I mean come on! but then.. God tells me, you do the very same thing to me. Im like blown away! I start thinking to myself wow that is so true. I do FCA at my school and I always get caught up in worrying about things like what if this doesnt work? or what if the speaker doesnt show up? or what if the building is locked? and I stress myself OUT! Then God says JACOB look at me and trust me. I have it in my hands, its okay. Then I start to think about my political career and I see all this going on in our government and it makes me so mad and worried about our countries future then God says I created this great nation let me control it and just follow me and I will heal this nation. He tells us in scripture:
2 Chronicles 7:14 (New International Version)
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Thats a HUGE verse and its my favorite verse! God simply says If his people (ME and You) will turn to GOD and stop worrying about our worries and let God control this nation he will rescue this great land. He will fix this nation and HE will return us! That fires me UP! Lets humble ourselves, and lets work together to turn from our wicked ways, and just seek his face. This all relates back to the verse with peter, we have turned our attention from God's face and we are sinking in the water. God has delivered us and HE will deliver this nation. I hope this challenges whoever reads this and I hope you allow God to fix our land and you and I both know we need it!
Lets pray to Jesus:
Dear father, Im so sorry for straying from your face and looking away. Oh Lord help me seek your face and restore this nation! Im sorry for ever doubting you lord. Lord to you be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
